The Role

The Media Science team uses advanced analytics, machine learning, statistics, and algorithms to plan and optimize advertising revenue.  The aim is to translate clients’ business goals into meaningful metrics, and buy media across all channels to drive those target outcomes.  The team is looking for someone to work alongside data analysts, data scientists, media strategists, media buyers, and software engineers.

As Director of Data-Driven Media Planning, you will ensure that the media planning is hyper scientific and at the cutting edge of what is possible in the industry.  You will work with the client-facing teams to support their media and experimentation plans, with the channel teams to guarantee allocations are built scientifically, and with the development team to help productionalize deeper and more technical approaches to planning.

 

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the design, creation, and implementation of scientific approaches to media planning
  • Drive the adoption of new tools and approaches you build across the team
  • Assess and onboard measurement vendors in the industry
  • Assist with and audit media plans the team is actively working on
  • Create best practices decks for the organization and, in some cases, for clients
  • Serve as a thought leader on evidence-based media planning for the broader team
  • Occasionally speak with clients on aspects of the company’s scientific process
  • Work closely with other senior leads to develop solutions that work for everyone
  • Collaborate with our Strategy and Studios teams to ensure the media planning process is fully integrated through all verticals

Experience Required

  • A degree from a well-regarded college or university. STEM degrees are preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in data-driven marketing, preferably at an agency, consulting firm, or large in-house media activation team
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in managing projects and driving them forward
  • Some hands-on-keyboard experience implementing scientific solutions yourself is a major plus
  • Robust analytical skills
  • Knowledgeable about data-driven marketing, data science, and statistics
  • Understanding of the advertising and media landscape, especially as pertains to measurement vendors and ad platforms
  • Strong project management skills
  • Basic coding skills are a major plus

Salary Package

Up to $230,000 per annum. Benefits include: unlimited PTO, 401k, generous medical plan, paid parental leave

Bonus: $20k bonus, $20k share options bonus
